Boating in Swansboro isn't just a hobby, it's a way of life! But what is your vessel of choice to explore Swansboro's scenic seaside?
It's easy (and great exercise) to grab a canoe, kayak or paddleboard (complete with rod and cooler) and check out the White Oak River and Intracoastal Waterway. (Kayakers note that Hammocks Beach State Park has its own kayak launch.) Organized and self-guided tours are both available in the area and are also great family fun.
Cruising up and down the waterway…whether in search of that perfect fishing hole or a perfect picnic spot…is another favorite pastime. That will make you an official "sandbar hopper." Just remember…it's okay to do both! (Don't forget the mini grill and hotdogs…yummy!)
