Fishing opportunities abound in the "Friendly City by the Sea." The question is…what type of fish do you want to catch? Flounder? Trout? King Mackerel or Red Drum? Whether you have access to a boat or prefer to fish from shore, fishing is a sport that can be enjoyed by 'kids' of all ages.
There are three unique inlets to the ocean just a short distance from Downtown Swansboro – Queens Creek, Bear Creek, and the White Oak River.

- The Bogue Inlet Pier is just a short drive away.
- There are numerous nearshore and offshore wrecks, ledges and artificial reefs.
- Surf Fishing is popular from Bear Island at Hammocks Beach State Park.
Boaters will enjoy easy access to Casper's Marina. Located directly on the Intracoastal Waterway in downtown Swansboro, Casper's Marina provides a wide variety of boating services. Gas up here before exploring the pristine waters surround Swansboro or a fun day of fishing.
And don't forget you can get a line wet right off the dock at Swansboro's Bicentennial Park and the Main Street Dock... just don't get too distracted by the views!
