If you love outdoor adventure, don't let Swansboro's calm, seaside facade fool you. There's enough to do along this scenic coastal shore to keep even the pickiest of adventurers entertained…and coming back for more!
Waters sports are a natural pastime…it's just hard to choose which one! There's fishing, kayaking, boating, sailing and paddle boarding. Hey, you can even fish from your paddleboard!
Fishing charters are available for any type of fishing, whether you prefer in-shore or deep-sea fishing. Or maybe you just like the idea of cruising up and down the IntraCoastal Waterway and finding secluded beaches for shell collecting and family picnics. That's OK, too!
And if you like to camp, don't miss the opportunity to sleep under the stars with the sound of the ocean waves lulling you to sleep on one of these pristine beaches. Even if you don't have access to a boat, Hammock's Beach State Park makes daily ferry rides to Bear Island, where they offer fourteen primitive backpack campsites. For more information on the ferry schedule, call the park office at (910) 326-4881.
